Information Design
Even the most dense information when designed well can be accessible, digestible, and easy on the eye.
The difference between information design and communication design is that, while communication design seeks to elicit an action via design (whether it be to make a purchase or enrol for a class), the sole purpose of information design is to be a successful conveyor of the information it contains.
A successful way finding system can be the difference between access and ignorance; data visualised beautifully can check inherent biases; infographics can take a complex subject and tell a good story to a layperson.
