rePurpose is a global movement that seeks to educate and inspire the world to go plastic neutral by taking small conscious steps towards minimizing and balancing their plastic footprint.

We at Write Leela Write were asked to, among other things, design a vibrant feed from the content they sent as on a weekly basis.

We designed icons for various story categories with an emphasis on action, greenery, and team work. I think these turned out to be very successful in capturing the brief in a memorable way!

A mundane route that was rightly rejected was this set of icons, that follow the tired trope of association via everyday objects. It just didn’t work to communicate the active, fun, engaging work that rePurpose does so we ditched it.

I animated this gif of a the beautiful new rePurpose logo crafted after months of design by Write Leela Write’s cofounder Kala.

One of the easiest and most efficient ways to animate anything is using the old school slide technique on Adobe Photoshop. While I do use Adobe After Effects for weightier animations, I find Photoshop works very well for most quick gifs.

A Summer Poem

O' Hara howled: "It is too hot, our birth was given up to screaming." Pound, predictably: "In hot summer have I great rejoicing When the tempests kill the earth's foul peace, And the lightnings from black heav'n flash crimson, And the fierce thunders roar me their music And the winds shriek through the clouds mad, opposing, And through all the riven skies God's swords clash."

"Hey just saw this. How about rats? We have rats all over our office." This was our designer Indu Manohar responding to my email soliciting ideas for a seriously long overdue community post. What followed in the email was Indu's breathless proposal for what I believe to be our most vital community post thus far.
